'Bereaved by Suicide' Support Group

We are a small informal and friendly group meeting once a month on a Wednesday evening for 1½ hours in Beaconsfield, offering support and information for those who have experienced the trauma of bereavement by suicide.
Suicide is still a taboo subject that is not easily discussed and being bereaved by suicide can be very isolating. Finding the right words to either offer support or explain what has happened can sometimes be difficult and upsetting. Many people may feel they are grieving alone.
Experienced and qualified bereavement volunteers, trained in counselling skills, help to facilitate the group to share their experiences, thoughts and feelings in a confidential environment, and to find ways to cope and enable acceptance.
Information and resources about this type of grief are available, including a list of books, some of which may be loaned.
The group is for any adult bereaved by suicide, whether recently or many years ago. For some, joining us for one session was all they needed, others have come along regularly each month for over a year. Sometimes people have a gap and then come back. It is up to you!
Whilst individual counselling is not the purpose of the group, one-to-one support can be arranged for anyone separately by contacting the branch.
If you are interested please do contact
us and one of the group facilitators will get in touch to give you more
information.
